3.7.2 Saving files

You can decide yourself where to put the new file(s) on your harddisk. Simply go to your desired directory and type the filename. Clicking on existing filenames is also possible, however in this case you will be warned that the filename already exists.

In all cases you will be prompted to type a filename of your choice. You are required to input a valid DOS file name. The program will warn you if the filename is not valid. In case the file name already exists, the program will ask for a confirmation to overwrite the existing file.

Within Rebel, "TRASH.DAT" is a protected name. It is impossible for the user to make new databases with that name.

Some of the above standing options are not available when the file that is to be saved would be saved on a CD-ROM, while it is impossible to write on a CD-ROM.
