B Rebel Calling Parameters

In starting the program REBEL.EXE, you can use several calling parameters:

 Parameter   Description 
 A   no double games check in autoplay (AUTO232) mode 
 S   don't show the Rebel startup screen. 
 V   bypass the VESA mode (in case of problems with VESA VGA cards) 
 W   limit the hash table to 256 kb 
 W1   limit the hash table to 512 kb 
 W2   limit the hash table to 1 Mb 
 W3   limit the hash table to 2 Mb 
 W4   limit the hash table to 4 Mb 
 W5   limit the hash table to 13 Mb 
 W6   limit the hash table to 28 Mb 
 W7   limit the hash table to 40 Mb 
 W8   limit the hash table to 60 Mb 
 W9   limit the hash table to 100 Mb 
 EPD filename   analyze the position, contained in the EPD file. 
   The Rebel startup screen will be skipped 
 PGN filename   direct load of the PGN file. 
   The Rebel startup screen will be skipped 

If none of the W parameters (W, W1, ..., W9) is used, a size of 4 Mb for the hashtables is used (i.e. W4).

The hash table limitations are added to avoid swap delays in a Windows environment.

Note
You can use several of the options in starting Rebel, e.g.

starts Rebel in the "no VESA" mode, avoiding the Rebel startup screen and limiting the hashtable size to 13 Mb.
