From August 21-25, 20000 the World Micro Computer-Chess Championship (WMCC) is held in London,
England.
Rebel company will be present with 2 entries: Chess-Tiger 12.9 and Rebel-Century 3.0 (beta)
will play the strongest field ever and both will go for the title.
One of our beta testers has played 20 manual tournament against the strongest chess engines
currently available Rebel having the slower hardware most of the time. Rebel Century 3.0 (beta)
did not lose one single game although the drawing rate was quite high. Nevertheless a fantastic
starting point.
We do not claim a victory in London as we don't know the progress of others plus the fact
that history has proven that one need to have at least a 70% score in the preparation period
to have a 90% chance on the title (source: Jan Louwman).
We also are informed another (non Rebel) engine has an even higher preparation percentage than
Rebel Century 3.0 (beta) so one thing for sure this is going to be an exciting tournament.
Our second secret wapon is Chess-Tiger 12.9. Last year Christophe surprised the whole world
by entering the Swedish Computer List at the no.1 place coming from nowhere. The new Tiger
computes a lot deeper than the commercial version and this 12.9 version has the potential
to crush them all.
But will it happen.......?
On this page you can follow the progess of Rebel and Chess Tiger during the tournament. Your
annotator will be Jeroen Noomen.
